What Uyio AI Does

Uyio AI is a communication practice tool. You speak into your device, and our AI analyzes your speech to provide feedback on clarity, confidence, logic, pacing, and filler word usage.

What We Collect

  • Account information: email address (if you create an account)
  • Voice recordings: audio captured during practice sessions
  • Transcripts: text versions of your recordings, generated by AI
  • Practice scores and feedback: your performance data
  • Basic device/browser information for app functionality

How We Use Your Data

  • Voice recordings are processed by OpenAI's Whisper API for transcription
  • Transcripts are analyzed by AI to generate your feedback scores
  • Your scores and progress are stored so you can track improvement over time
  • We do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising

Voice Recording Storage

  • Audio recordings are processed for transcription and then deleted
  • We do not store your voice recordings permanently
  • Transcripts and scores are stored in your account for progress tracking

Guest Users

  • If you use Uyio without an account, your practice data is stored locally on your device and is not saved to our servers
  • No personal information is collected from guest users

Third-Party Services

We use the following services to operate Uyio AI:

  • Supabase (database and authentication)
  • OpenAI (speech transcription and feedback generation)
  • Vercel (web hosting)
  • Stripe (payment processing, for paid accounts only)

These services process data on our behalf and are subject to their own privacy policies.

Your Rights

  • You can request a copy of your data at any time
  • You can delete your account and all associated data
  • Contact us through our contact form for any privacy requests

Canadian Privacy (PIPEDA)

Uyio AI complies with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). We collect only the personal information necessary to provide our service, we obtain consent before recording your voice, and we provide mechanisms for you to access and delete your data.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or in-app notification.
